for Real was used during 1991 and 1992 to explore alternatives to the
Borough Council - Commercial developer partnership shopping centre
scheme on the former town centre cricket ground.
Though too late to realise the evidently preferred alternative
based on a reinstated harbour basin the process showed how a complex
issue can be understood by all sectors of the community. The project illustrates the use of Planning for Real. |
