| A
recently restored Regency church converted into a performing arts
centre, St. Mary-in-the-Castle is often called the jewel in Hastings'
crown.
Initially saved from ruin by the Borough Council, a subsequent
partnership with a community pressure group has led to its successful
establishment of a now nationally renowned centre managed by a
registered charity.
In addition to a high quality performing arts venue the centre
has a popular foyer cafe, managed by volunteers, and the crypt provides
frequently used exhibition space for local artists
