Issues:

'Delivering Educationally beneficial projects', ban the word 'training'

Fundraising / bid-writing

Group Training / Team Building

Managing Information

Follow-up / monitoring processes

Monitoring & shadowing

Staff appraisals - not reflecting all training needs

Management appraisal

Specialised training in recruitment

Money for facilitators & external venues

not enough analysis done on identifying training needs

Identifying local training needs

Customer care needed

No money for training

Training a new workforce and space for them to attend events

Larger budgets for training for local authority staff

Too many managers in the bureaucracy and not enough money for delivery

Solutions:

Training needs analysis day which leads to a training programme

Need a database of local groups and what they do

Draw together consortia for future funding - identifying their special issues

Council should fund the VS consortium to provide coordination of services

Develop new courses through the open college network

LSC needs to be more innovative in twho they fund and how they fund

Education, Education, Education

learning from other projects experiences
