Local Exchange Trading Schemes or Systems (LETS)
Local Exchange Trading Schemes or Systems (LETS) are local cashless barter system which enable the trade of goods and services amongst its members using a local credit or currency.  A local network can be set up by any group or community. Participation is open to all.
A central exchange, operating as a non-profit community organisation, manages the transactions. It provides:
- a directory with listings of offers and needs
- LETS cheque books, and statements to members
